STANDING FOR FREEDOM AND LIBERTY

...in memory of our God, our religion, and freedom, and our peace, our wives, and our children

HEATON FAMILY

PROCLAMATION

We, the Lowell Heaton Family, members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, solemnly proclaim that this is our Family's Proclamation, written on May 4th, 1998, to be an example for our Heritage to follow in the years to come.

We declare that our family has a divine destiny to inherit Eternal Life that we will strive for this goal in all our doings. It is important that we have a Testimony of the Savior and the restored gospel. We will prepare to be baptized, to be Ordained to the Holy Priesthood, to be married for Time and All Eternity in a Temple of our Lord. We commit ourselves to follow the Church Leaders. To raise our families to the best of our ability and to teach our children to "Walk uprightly before the Lord" (D&C 68:25)

We will remember the traditions of the Heaton family as missionaries to the world. This tradition began in England when the first HEaton joined the church and then was called to serve a mission before coming to the United States

May we as a family always enjoy life and have fun. Work hard and play hard. We desire to have yearly activities and a tri-yearly super activity, with every family member involved. Learn the principles of work, respect, kindness, love, prayer, compassion, forgiveness, faith, and repentance. Serve one another; stregnthen our Family, especially our brothers and sisters. Be there for our family when we are needed. Always be a good example to others.

Live the Golden Rule. And obey the Laws of the Land. And keep the commandments, always remembering to pay a full tithe.

We will avoid peer pressure. Strive for perfection, to be the "Best We Can Be," in all things. Gain knowledge, study the scriptures and read good books, have a desire to further our education. Do not go into debt except for a house, cor or education.

Our Heavenly Father has blessed us with six days in which to do our own bidding and has asked us to consecrate the seventh for his day, we will keep the Sabbath day holy.

Husbands and wives, love, honor and respect each other, and do the same for our children, grandchildren, ect. Show your love physically, and children do the same.

Avoid divorce, it does more than separate a husband and wife, it tears apart an eternal unit. The Heaton family has a rich tradition of being a close family. A blessing started by loving parents long ago. Our family meets together once a month, a simple price for a great blessing.

We are blessed to be born in this dispensation, when the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored. Love the Lord and He will return His love an hundred fold.
